About the Mountaineers
Appalachian is coming off an exciting 3-0 victory in its home opener over Campbell on Sunday. The Mountaineers didn't waste any time in getting on the board, as Jamie Palermo's first-career goal came in the first four minutes of the contest. Maggie Hanusek scored later in the first period to push App to a 2-0 edge before Kait Seitter tacked on an impressive goal in the final frame to give the Black and Gold a 3-0 lead. Seitter and Hanusek both scored a goal with an assist. Seitter had as about a big of a debut you can ask for, as she played in her first-ever contest for the Black and Gold after redshirting last season. The three points scored by Hanusek and Seitter are tied for the highest scored in a single game from last weekend in the Sun Belt. The three goals by the Apps were the highest tallied in a single game in the Sun Belt.

Scouting Maryland (1-1, Big Ten)
The Terrapins are off to a 1-1 start after falling to James Madison last weekend in a 3-0 setback. Maryland has found recent success against its non-conference opponents, boasting a 7-1-1 mark since last season. The Terps are 9-1 in their last 10 home openers. Jarena Harmon is the lone student-athlete for Maryland to score as she's tallied a pair of goals. Erin Seppi and Rachel Egyed have both played 90 minutes between the posts, while Seppi has started in both contests. Harmon, Egyed and Jlon Flippers were selected to the Big Ten All-Preseason team.

Scouting Old Dominion (1-0-1, C-USA)
ODU is 1-0-1 this season after posting a 3-0 shutout over Mount St. Mary's - MD last weekend. Kira Laurento was named Conference USA's Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a goal in the victory. She leads the way with two goals and four points. Iris Achterof and Morgan Hall also have scored a goal. Erin Davidson (155 minutes) and Jasmine Crawley (45 minutes) have both seen action in the net, while Davidson has six saves and a .857 save percentage. ODU and Townson will faceoff on Friday before the matchup on Sundya.

Series History
Maryland - The Mountaineers are 1-0 against the Terps after a thrilling come-from-behind 2-1 win at home for the first-ever "Power Five" win in program history. Erin Settle notched the equalizer  before Jane Cline's goal at the 83rd minute gave App the commanding lead.

ODU - Sunday's matchup against the Monarchs is the first meeting between the two foes.
