Men's Golf Competes at East Bay Deli Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Battling tough conditions all week, App State's men's golf team placed 19th at the East Bay Deli Classic held at Turtle Point Golf Course, Sunday-Tuesday​​.​​​​​

College of Charleston, the only team to finish under par at 3 under, took first place, with second place University of Memphis coming in at even par and third place Augusta University 13 strokes behind them. Sun Belt opponent Troy also participated in the tournament finishing 10th at +29.

Second-year player Jack Brea paced the Mountaineers with an individual finish of T-45th, posting a three-round score of 10 over par (76-75-75-226), followed by junior Noah Schneider's 15-over finish and sophomore Logan McNeely's 16 over. Alex Burris and Candler Rice also competed to post a team score of 912 (311-306-295), where they saw improvement each day.

The Mountaineers will now head into their winter break where they look to stay warm and pick play back up in the spring and move towards the Sun Belt Championship.
