PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. — Led by
Herman Huus, who tied for third place individually, App State Men's Golf took fourth in the 13-team Temple Invitational on Tuesday after carrying a lead into the second round of the 54-hole event.
Played on a par-70 layout at The 1912 Club outside of Philadelphia, the Mountaineers were in third place after 36 holes and finished with a 22-over total of 278-291-293—862. They ended up five strokes behind Lehigh, La Salle and Drexel, who all tied for first at 17 over.
Huus opened the event with a 3-under round and finished at 2 over (67-72-73—212). He was in a group that finished three strokes behind runner-up Jake Roth from Lehigh and eight strokes behind medalist Phillip Bondestad from East Carolina.
Ben Read tied for 12th place at 6 over (71-74-71—216), and
Cole Bergheim tied for 16th at 7 over (70-72-75—217).
Rob Bergevin produced App State's fourth top-25 finish, as he tied for 23rd at 9 over (70-75-74—219), while
Alex Martin tied for 32nd at 11 over (73-73-75—221).
Competing as an individual close to his hometown of Wayne, Pa.,
James Gradisek shot rounds of 79, 72 and 81.
The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club. The Mountaineers are back in action next week at the Ironwood Collegiate in Greenville, N.C., on Monday and Tuesday.
