Three Named Preseason All-Sun Belt
The trio of Story, Plummer and Stanley were recognized by the conference during its preseason awards. Story and Plummer were named to the second team, while Stanley was a third-team selection. Stanley led the team in scoring at 11.4 ppg and was second averaging 5.2 rpg. She was one of two freshmen in the league to average at least 10 points and five boards per contest. Plummer posted a breakout sophomore season where she led the Sun Belt and was 13th in the nation in rebounding at 11.5 per game. Her 355 rebounds set a new sophomore record while it was also the second-highest mark in a single season. Story led the team in 2016-17 in scoring (13.3 ppg), rebounding (6.9 rpg) and 3-pointers with 38. The redshirt senior was the only player in the conference to lead her team in all three categories.
