THE SERIES
- This will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools.
- Ball State captured the first meeting in the 1979-80 season 74-68 on a neutral court.
LAST TIME OUT
- Appalachian State dropped a tight 82-76 contest to Wichita State on Friday evening at the Charleston Classic.
- Justin Forrest paced the Mountaineers with a season-high 28 points on 9-of-15 (60.0 percent) shooting and a 4-of-5 (80.0 percent) clip from deep. He added a season-high seven rebounds.
- Ronshad Shabazz had 17 points and a season-best five rebounds. Hunter Seacat tied his career-high with nine points, while adding four rebounds, three assists and a steal.
- App State erased a nine-point halftime deficit and took a 66-61 lead with just over six minutes to play. The Shockers countered with a 12-2 spurt to retake the lead 73-68. Shabazz hit a pair of free throws with 44 seconds left to cut the App State deficit to two points at 77-75. The Mountaineers fouled on the Shockers next possession and Erik Stevenson made his first free throw but missed the second. McDuffie grabbed the rebound for Wichita State and was fouled with 10 seconds left. He drained both of his free throws to push the Shocker lead to 80-75 and put the game away.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- The Black and Gold are now 1-3 on the season.
- As a team, the Mountaineers are shooting 50.9 percent from the field, which ranks in the top-50 in the country. App State is also shooting 42.2 percent from deep, which also sits in the top-50 in the country.
- Justin Forrest has reached double figures in all four games this season, including two contests of 20 points or better. He is shooting 51.0 percent (25-of-49) from the field and 60.0 percent (12-of-20) from deep.
- Ronshad Shabazz is also averaging double figures for App State. Shabazz has posted 15 or more points in two contests this season.
- Isaac Johnson has had at least four rebounds in all four contests this season and leads the team averaging 7.3 rpg. He is averaging 9.8 points on 57.1 percent (16-of-28) shooting.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
- Ball State dropped a 79-61 contest to Alabama on Friday to fall to 1-3 on the season.
- K.J. Walton paced the Cardinals with a team-high 13 points. Trey Moses had 11 points and four blocks, Kyle Mallers had 10 points and Taylar Persons also had 10 points.
- Ball State features four players averaging double figure scoring in Person (16.5 ppg), Walton (14.0 ppg), Tahjai Teague (10.5 ppg) and Mallers (10.3 ppg).
- Teague is shooting a team-best 61.3 percent from the field and pulling down a team-high 5.8 rebounds.

App State will play next on Nov. 26 back in Boone at 7 p.m. versus Winston-Salem State. The Mountaineers will follow that with a road contest on Nov. 30 at East Carolina at 7 p.m.
