CHARLOTTE, N.C. –– Appalachian State University men's track and field wrapped up day one of the Charlotte Invitational on Friday.
The Mountaineers finished the day with one first-place finish. Ryan Hastings finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:50.70.
In the 1,500-meter run, Evan Georges placed 13th with a time of 3:55.83, while Michael Flanagan took 21st (3:58.75), Collin Loy finished 28th (4:01.57), Jacob Sears finished 38th (4:09.72) and Chris Anderson placed 44th (4:14.66).
Peter Kenn placed 11th in the hammer throw with a distance of 154-9.00 feet. Michael Albert took 18th (126-3.00), Nicolas Botett finished 19th (126-1.00) and Mason Poteat placed 21st (119-11.00).
Jackson Powers finished sixth in the decathlon. Powers finished fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.18), sxith in the 400-meter dash (55.45), sixth in the high jump (5-1.75 feet), sixth in the long jump (17-6.75 feet) and second in the shot put (37-8.75 feet).
