App State is coming off a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory on the road against Presbyterian, where the Mountaineers trailed 1-0 early in the match. Freshmen
Parker Washburn and
Brady Gunter aided in the Apps' comeback as Washburn tied up the match before Gunter scored in the 94th minute for his first-career goal and game-winning score. The Mountaineers tied last season's win total with a chance to surpass five wins in the next three matches including the Sun Belt Tournament.
Jake Agnew picked up his first win of the season in his third consecutive start since returning from an injury. Eight of 11 Mountaineers that have scored are first-year student-athletes, while four of the five game-winning goals from this season is by first-year players. Appalachian is second in the conference in shutouts while it's goals against average of 1.06 is second as well.
Scouting Coastal Carolina
The Chanticleers are playing some of their best soccer with a season-best three-match win streak, including an upset over then-No. 2 Maryland on the road, 1-0. CCU also has another Power Five road win earlier this season against South Carolina. CCU is tied with Hartwick for the second-most goals in the league with 20, while it's tied for third in goals allowed with 18. Frantzdy Pierrot and Martin Melchor lead the way with four goals apiece, which is tied for fourth in the conference. Brau Linares-Ortiz has played the most minutes between the posts for CCU, where .742 save percentage and three shutouts.

App is 1-2-1 all-time against the hosts. Last season, CCU escaped Boone with a 2-1 overtime win.
