About the Mountaineers
Appalachian is coming off a tough 3-0 loss to Hartwick on Saturday in its Sun Belt home opener, which broke an impressive streak of 309-straight minutes without allowing a goal. The Mountaineers have yet to lose-back-to-back home matches this season. App is 1-1 during its three-match homestand, beginning the stretch with a 1-0 triumph in overtime against UNC Asheville.
John Walrath netted his first goal of the season in the extra period to push the Mountaineers past the Bulldogs. App is looking to match last season's win total with five matches left in the regular season. The Black and Gold didn't pick up its fifth victory until Oct. 25 against the Camels.
Scouting Campbell
The Camels are 4-1 over their last five contests including a 4-3 victory against Longwood in their most recent outing. Campbell 4-2-1 on the road and have won its last two matches away from its home field. JJ Donnelly leads the team with 11 goals, which is fourth in the nation and tops the Big South. Head coach Dustin Fonder is entering his third season at the helm for the Orange and Black. Fonder is 23-25-1 entering Tuesday.
