SAN MARCOS, Texas - Appalachian State women's soccer (2-8-3, 1-3-1 SBC) suffered a 4-0 decision to Texas State (6-4-1, 4-1 SBC) on Sunday evening at the Bobcat Soccer Complex.
It was an affair where both teams fired away at the frame with a combined 45 shots with 18 shots on the target. However, Appalachian's shots just couldn't cross the line between the posts as five different Mountaineers posted shots at goal including four in the second 90 minutes.
Morgan Mosack attempted a team-high five shots with
Kat Greer firing off four attempts, one of which was on goal.
Sarah Peatross was the other Mountaineer with multiple shot attempts as she sent two at the goal with one in the frame, while
Emmily Cowie,
Sharon Osterbind, and
Sarah Moon all chipped in with a SOG.
Taylor Ray was active all evening with nine saves on 29 shots by the Bobcats, tying a personal best.
Texas State struck first early in the first half to take a 1-0 lead then added three more on the scoreboard to help secure the win and push the win streak to three matches for the Bobcats.
Appalachian will host archrival Georgia Southern on Friday at 7 p.m. for the annual Breast Cancer Awareness match at Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex.
