Men's Track and Field Finishes Mountaineer Open

BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's track and field wrapped up the Mountaineer Open on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium. The Mountaineers finished the day with five first-place finishes.

Early in the meet, Ellsworth Parham took second in the shot put with a throw of 54-6 and Nathan Milch took third with a distance of 53-11. Parham also took second in the discus with a throw of 157-2 and Milch took fifth with a throw of 151-4.

Milch finished second in the hammer throw with a distance of 175-11 and Mason Lasater finished fourth with a throw of 155-6.

Isaiah Relliford finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 46-11.75. In the high jump, Nick Hinton finished in a tie for second with a height of 6-5.

Tristian Shaver took fourth in the pole vault with a height of 15-5, while Matt Layne took sixth with a vault of 15-1.

Both Ryan Shannon and Evan Laratta took first and second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with times of 9:37.58 and 9:38.64, respectively. The 4x100-meter relay team of Marshall McRae, Antonio Marcano Jr., Russell Price and William Buckley took first with a time of 40.81.

Evan Georges and Chris Anderson finished third and fourth in the 1,500-meter run with times of 3:57.86 and 4:00.44, respectively. 

Stanley Broaden claimed first place in both the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles. Broaden ran a time of 14.17 in the 110 hurdles and a time of 51.61.

In the 400-meter dash, Garrett Hammonds finished fourth with a time of 49.47. Ryan Hastings finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.32. In the 200-meter dash, Buckley finished second with a time of 21.54.
