CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Appalachian State University men's track and field finished up day two of the Charlotte Invite on Saturday with four first-place finishes.
The Mountaineers were led by their five first-place finishes. Stanley Broaden took first in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. In the 110-meter race, Broaden finished with a time of 14.22 and a time of 51.37 in the 400-meter race.
Two of App State's relays also took first on Saturday. In the 4x100-meter relay, the team of Russell Price, William Buckley, Antonio Marcano Jr. and Marshall McRae finished in 40.79. The 4x400-meter relay team of Peter Ovendorf, Brandon Smith, Broaden and Ryan Hastings finished in 3:14.69.
Buckley finished fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.60 and also took sixth in the 200-meter race with a time of 21.82. In the 400-meter dash, Hastings took fourth with a time of 48.28. Will Henderson finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.04.
In the field, Phillip Thomas took second in the pole vault with a height of 15-11 and Isaiah Relliford finished fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 47-0.25. Nathan Milch and Ellsworth Parham finished back-to-back in third and fourth place, respectively, in the shot put. Milch finished with a throw of 53-8.25, while Parham finished with a distance of 52-2.75.
The Mountaineers will return to action on Friday, April 22 with the Auburn Invitational, which spans two days and will conclude on Saturday, April 23.
