BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State Universty men's track and field posted two first-place finishes at the App State Open on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Nathan Milch placed first in the shot put event, earning a mark of 53-10.50. It was a new personal best for Milch. Milch then took third in the hammer throw with a mark of 164-8 for a new personal best.. MyQuon Stout took second in the discus throw with a throw of 158-6.
In the pole vault event Phillip Thomas took first, clearing a height of 16-0.75.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Marshall McRae, William Buckley, Clay Allen and Henry Bustle finished first, posting a time of 41.05.
Evan Wright took fifth in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.26 for a personal best, while Evan Georges also posted a personal best in the 1,500 meter run (3:53.20). Ryan Shannon placed third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:4731.
The Mountaineers return to action next weekend for the Sun Belt Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala.
