BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's track and field finished the App State Open on Saturday by posting five first-place finishes at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Micah Hanks earned a new personal best in the long jump with a mark of 18-0.50, placing first. Brianna Tate also placed first for the Mountaineers throwing a mark of 49-2.50. Ashley Muschiatti took second in the shot put with a personal best throw of 44-0.50.
Jasmine Suydam placed first in the discus throw on Saturday, recording a personal best of 152-5. The mark ranks third all-time in the App State record books.
Hunter Welborn took second in the high jump, clearing a personal best of 5-6.50. Shaela Wheeler placed third in the javelin throw, tallying a personal best of 110-4.
Brooke Brekke earned another Mountaineers first-place finish, finishing with a time of 1:06.10 in the 400 meter hurdles. The time was a new personal best for Brekke.
The women's 4x100 relay team of Hanks, Chelsey Hargrave, Krystal Clarke and Kaytlyn Gill placed first, recording a time of 47.25.
The Mountaineers will return to action when they travel to the Sun Belt Championships in Gulf Shores, Ala. next weekend.
