BOONE, N.C. - The Southern Conference has named Appalachian State University's D.J. Thompson (Raleigh, N.C./Leesville Road) its Men's Basketball Player of the Month for November. The junior point guard had an outstanding month, averaging 25.2 points per game in his first four outings. Thompson nearly notched a career high with 31 points at James Madison on November 28 and became the first Mountaineer since the 1999-2000 season to score 20 or more points in four consecutive games. During his first four games he also shot 46 percent from behind the three-point arc. In addition to his prodigious scoring, he also averaged 4.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game while serving as the Apps' floor general. Thompson and the rest of the men's basketball squad return to action on Tuesday, December 6 when they take their 3-3 record into Thompson-Boling Arena for a 7 p.m. showdown with the University of Tennessee.
