Brittany Bolick

Brittany Bolick enters her fourth as an assistant women's soccer coach and fifth season with the program after previously serving as a volunteer assistant in 2014 – the program's first season in the Sun Belt Conference.

The fourth-year assistant helped the Black and Gold earn a .500 mark with a 9-9-1 record, which more than doubled 2017's win total, while the six Sun Belt victories
were the most since joining the conference.

Bolick assisted in the development of the Kat Greer, who led the team with a career-high five goals, 11 points and a personal-best 15 starts in 17 appearances. Greer finished in the top 10 in the Sun Belt in goals and goals per game. The Mountaineers went 2-0-1 in the final three matches of the season to earn a berth in the Sun Belt Tournament.

In each year of the Sun Belt, the Mountaineers have shown growth in both win totals and talent as it culminated with a No. 4 seed in 2016's Sun Belt Tournament. Appalachian won four of its last five matches, including three straight to finish the season and a 4-3 double overtime thriller over top-ranked South Alabama. The win over the Jaguars was a rematch of the 2015 Sun Belt Tournament semifinals where App State fell 10-9 in PKs.

Bolick helped coached 2016 Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Year Jane Cline, who rewrote the Mountaineers' record book. Cline is now tied for first all-time single season goals (11), first in single season shots (91), second in single season points (25) and tied for second in all-time assists (14).

Strickland noted, "I am thrilled to welcome Brittany to our staff on a full-time basis. Brittany has worked hard to develop relationships with the girls, learn about our values, our system of play and is truly invested in who we are and what we do. She is going to add excitement and energy to our program and is a wonderful mentor for the girls. She is the piece we have been looking for to balance the staff and we are so blessed to have her join our program."

Before coming to Appalachian in 2014, Bolick served as the varsity head coach of the girls soccer program at Watauga High School. She compiled a record of 47-28-8 as the Pioneers head coach and finished 14-6-3 in her last season in 2013.

A Watauga graduate, Bolick played collegiately at Charleston Southern and was a two-time all-Big South player and was named team Most Valuable Player her junior and senior seasons.

Prior to her collegiate career, Bolick played locally at Watauga High School where she was named all-Northwestern Conference for three seasons and and NWC Player of the Year in 2005.
