Ben Birdsong graduated from Appalachian State in 2010 with a degree in finance.

As an athlete, Birdsong played club soccer with Twin City in Winston-Salem, and for Greensboro Dynamo.

Birdsong was the captain of his varsity high school team for three years and led the team in scoring and assists his senior year.

He possesses a national youth USSF coaching license and USSF national "D" coaching license.

Birdsong is also involved with the High Country Soccer Association (HCSA) as a coach for the U-18 girls first division classic team and U-13 girls classic team. He is Director of the HCSA adult league and Director of the youngest youth program, Junior Avalanche.
