Bill Dixon joined App State's Sports Medicine staff in June 2019 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the wrestling team. Dixon made his way to the High Country after completing his graduate studies at UNC Pembroke. At UNC Pembroke, Dixon was a part of a conference championship wrestling team while boasting four All-Americans, including a national finalist in 2019. Dixon's previous experience includes a stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins AHL affiliate, and a graduate assistantship at Concord University working with football and women's soccer before finishing his graduate studies at UNC Pembroke. Dixon graduated from UNC Pembroke with a Master’s Degree in Exercise/Sport Administration, and earned his undergraduate degree at Lock Haven University, where he completed a B.S. in Athletic Training. Dixon is an NATA BOC-certified Athletic Trainer, an NCBATE-licensed Athletic Trainer, and was most recently certified in Functional Dry Needling. Originally from Dallas, Pa., he now lives in Boone, N.C.
