Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer any scholarships?
At this time, we do award six partial scholarships annually. The Julia Ross Adams Scholarship and the Elizabeth Hamrick Scholarship. These are given out to individuals during the school year based on performance in and out of the classroom, work ethic, attitude and your role as a team member in general. We are always working on ways to raise more money to fund additional scholarships.
Do you compete?
We competed for two years at Cheer LTD and the Canam Nationals in the small coed division and placed 3rd both years. Having gained more competitive experience, we competed in the D1A small coed division at UCA Nationals in 2019. We were unable to compete last season due to COVID-19, but we are excited to make a return to UCA Nationals in 2022!
What type of squad(s) do you have? (All-Girl/Co-ed)
Within our program, we have an all-girl team and a small co-ed team.
When does the squad perform?
The entire team cheers at all home football games and members will be selected to travel to away football games. The team covers men's and women's home basketball games, home wrestling matches and some volleyball games; for these appearances, the team will equally split the events. The team will send a select few to postseason championship games/bowl games/tournaments if applicable. The cheerleaders are also required to attend various sports and community appearances and events throughout the season.
What is the time commitment?
We typically practice four days a week for about two hours throughout the season. Team workouts are twice a week in the athletics facilities under the guidance of certified strength and conditioning coaches. Our athletes are also required to complete three hours of study hall per week in the athletic facility. All games and appearances are required throughout the season.
