Biography

2008: Was a regular in the weekend rotation in his first season in Black and Gold ... rebounded from a 1-6 start to finish the season at 6-6 ... tied for team lead with 14 starts ... ranked second on squad in wins (6) and innings pitched (80.1) and third in strikeouts (55) ... led the team with a sterling 1.9 walks per nine innings ... got off to a rough start after transferring to ASU mid-year, losing each of his first three starts at NC State (Feb. 23) and versus Canisius (Feb. 29) and Yale (March 8) ... rebounded from the slow start with perhaps his best performance of the year, allowing just one run on three hits and striking out three in a 6-1 win at Jacksonville State (March 14) ... saw his record drop to 1-6 and his ERA balloon to 7.36 with three-straight losses to open SoCon play versus UNC Greensboro (March 21), The Citadel (March 28) and College of Charleston (April 4) ... benefitted from a move out of the Friday starting role beginning with a Sunday win at Georgia Southern (April 13), in which he struck out a season-high seven and didn’t surrender an earned run in six innings of work ... pitched well again the following week versus Western Carolina (April 20) with six hits, three strikeouts and only two earned runs in seven innings of work, but didn’t figure into the decision ... allowed just four earned runs despite surrendering 11 hits in six innings of an 8-7 triumph over Davidson (April 26) ... won each of his final three starts, including a 10-5 victory over Western Carolina (May 22) in which he struck out six and matched a season high with seven innings for ASU’s only win at the 2008 SoCon Tournament ... did not suffer a loss and sliced nearly two-and-a-half runs off his ERA (from 8.14 to 5.71) following the move from his role as Friday starter to one of the other weekend rotation positions.

Previous School: Posted a 6-3 record and 4.01 ERA in two seasons at East Carolina ... was a part of ECU’s starting rotation in 2007, going 5-2 with a 3.62 ERA in 13 starts ... allowed just 1.15 walks + hits per inning (WHIP) in ?07 ... recorded a 2.6-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio over two seasons at ECU ... was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
