Biography

2009: Quietly put together a sterling year as the primary setup man to all-America closer Zach Quate ... led team with 33 appearances (all out of the bullpen) and finished second only to Quate in ERA (3.12) and saves (2) ... his four wins led ASU relievers and were tied for third on the team overall ... did not surrender an earned run in 27-of-33 appearances ... gave up just one home run all season (Feb. 25 at Gardner-Webb) ... allowed multiple runs only three times all season, allowing six runs versus The Citadel (March 15), three at High Point (April 22) and five earned runs at NC State (May 12) ... those three multi-run appearances notwithstanding, he posted a miniscule 0.59 ERA in his other 30 outings ... picked up first career win with 2.2 innings of one-hit relief in victory over Jacksonville State (Feb. 22) ... after sporting a 5.52 ERA on March 17, he turned in a string of 13-consecutive appearances (March 21-April 21) without allowing an earned run (21.0 IP), lowering his ERA to 2.27 ... picked up his final three wins and both saves during the impressive stretch ... tossed a scoreless inning out of the bullpen to get the win at UNC Asheville (MArch 31) ... earned the win in ASU's 9-7 triumph at Tennessee (April 7) by turning 2.1 innings of one-hit, scoreless relief ... limited College of Charleston to two hits in 1.2 innings of work to pick up his fourth victory (April 18) ... notched saves by closing out wins over Gardner-Webb (12-10 on April 15) and N.C. A&T (9-6 on April 21) ... didn't surrender a run in three SoCon Tournament appearances.

2008: Appeared in four games out of the bullpen ... did not surrender a run in his first three outings of the season, combining to allow just two hits in 3.1 innings of work versus UNC Greensboro (March 23), UNC Asheville (April 1) and College of Charleston (April 5).

2007: Made 12 appearances, including one start, as a true freshman ... opened career by striking out two in scoreless inning versus Coppin State (Feb. 17) ... allowed just one run on one hit while striking out three in three innings of work against nationally ranked South Carolina, but picked up tough-luck loss in 4-1 setback ... struck out season-best five in first-career start versus East Tennessee State (March 20) ... tossed a perfect inning in win at Davidson (May 9).

High School: Two-time all-conference honoree ... posted 8-2 record en route to also earning all-Cape Fear region recognition as a senior ... hit over .400 as a junior and senior ... coached by Tommy Britt ... participated in 2005 state games ... also a two-time all-conference performer in football.
