Biography

2007: Led ASU and ranked fourth in the SoCon with a .387 batting average, the highest by a Mountaineer since Chris Behne hit .425 in 2000 ... also led the team in home runs (8), RBI (63), slugging percentage (.608) and on-base percentage (.468) ... 63 RBI fell just one short of school record of 64, set by Tom Sams in 1981 ... played through a number of injuries throughout the season to appear in 56 games, making 53 starts (27 at catcher and 26 at DH) ... battered right-handed pitching to the tune of a .414 average (60-of-145) ... led team with 25 two-out RBI ... had six hits in nine at-bats with the bases loaded ... posted a team-high 16 multi-RBI games, including 11 with three or more and two with at least five ... 25 multi-hit games were good for a tie for second on the squad ... hit safely in 47-of-53 starts ... went 3-for-5 with three doubles, three RBI and three runs scored in a win over Dayton (March 3) ... reached base safely in all five plate appearances with three hits, including a double and a triple, and two walks in a triumph over Fairleigh Dickinson (March 10) ... went 3-for-6 with two doubles and five RBI in a loss to East Tennessee State (March 20) ... followed up three-hit performance vs. ETSU by going a combined 7-for-9 in first two games of SoCon series against Wofford (March 23-24), including a season-best 4-for-4 effort in game two ... closed season by hitting safely in 16 of the final 18 games, despite a thumb injury that limited him to a designated hitter role ... hit .461 over the season-ending stretch with 13 multi-hit games ... highlighted run by going 3-for-6, with a double, homer and six RBI in regular-season finale at UNC Greensboro (May 19) ... had multiple hits in all three SoCon Tournament games, going 2-for-4 in loss to UNCG, 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored in win over top-seeded College of Charleston and 3-for-5 with an RBI in season-ending loss to Elon.
