App State Athletics is excited to welcome fans and visitors to the Holmes Convocation Center for men’s and women’s basketball home games this season. In preparation for each event, Below is helpful information for game day.
 
As always, arrive early, be loud and be respectful.

Accessibility
  • For information on parking, please contact the Yosef Club at 828-262-7999.
  • For seating for guests with disabilities, please contact the App State ticket office at 828-262-7733 during regular business hours.

Schedule  
App State Alert
  • Fans can stay in the know by signing up for event alerts via text message by texting appstatealert to 67283.

Text Message Alerts
  • Stay in the know about App State men’s and women’s basketball game days by signing up to receive text alerts for special ticket offers, game day reminders and more via our new partner, Vozzi.
  • Sign up at goapp.st/Vozzi or opt in by texting APPSTATEMBB or APPSTATEWBB to 833-390-1823.
Entry
  • Fans can use exterior stairwells and ramps to enter the arena through four different locations at the Holmes Center. Patrons will walk through a weapon detection system at all four entrances. Items do not have to be removed from your pockets. See Clear Bag Policy below.
  • Entrances are listed below:
    • Northwest entrance
    • Southwest Entrance (handicap accessible)
    • Southeast entrance
    • Northeast entrance
 
Concessions
  • Concession stands are located on the concourse of Sections 2, 5, 10 and 13.
  • A Grab & Go station will be located on the concourse of Sections 4 and 12.
 
Beer
  • Beer stands will be located throughout the concourse for fans at every home game.
 
Yosef’s Tavern
  • The official App State beer stand, Yosef’s Tavern, will be open at all men’s home games and will be located at Section 1.
 
Doors Open
  • Subject to change, the doors to the Holmes Center will open 90 minutes before tipoff for each men’s and women’s basketball game.
 
Entry/Re-Entry
  • Fans who exit the Holmes Center during the game may not re-enter the arena.
 
Mobile App
  • Download the App State Athletics mobile app to get the latest updates and promotions for App State game days and sports teams. Enable push notifications to stay up-to-date with all your favorite App State teams and alerts.
 
Junior Mountaineer Kids Club
  • Mountaineer fans 8th grade and younger can join the Junior Mountaineer Kids Club to receive exclusive JMKC gear and experiences at App State Athletics events.
  • JMKC members also receive free admission to all App State men’s and women’s basketball games
 
Media Entrance and Policies
  • Game entrance for media will be through the loading dock on the south end of the arena on Faculty Street.
  • Credential requests are being accepted for each home men’s and women’s basketball games. The media credential request form for men’s basketball can be filled out here. The media credential request form for women’s basketball can be filled out here.
  • Contact Jacob Plecker (pleckerjw@appstate.edu) or Katherine Jamtgaard (jamtgaardka@appstate.edu) with App State Strategic Communications to request credentials and find out more media information and policies.
 
Merchandise
  • Merchandise stands are located around the concourse where fans can purchase App State-branded gear.
 
Mobile Tickets  
YIKAS Rewards (for students)
  • YIKAS Rewards is a student-only rewards program that requires a valid App State student email address to join. Students check into App State home games to earn points. Points can be redeemed for free gear, prizes, and great deals.
  • Open the App State Athletics app on your mobile device, select “more” in the bottom navigation bar and click “Student Rewards” in the menu. Enter your information, including your student email address, and a confirmation message will be sent to your email. Then click “Confirm your email.”
  • Check in at the game to be eligible for awesome prizes.

Parking
  • There are roughly 1,500 FREE parking spaces within 0.4 miles of the Holmes Convocation Center that will be available for game day use. Those lots include Hill Street, Rivers Street Parking Deck, University Drive Peacock, Legends and Duncan. 
  • In addition to the lots listed above, the newly opened Holmes Center Parking Deck offers 600 more parking spaces. Yosef Club members at the $500 level or higher will have the ability to purchase season parking in the Holmes Deck for $100, if available.
  • Single-game parking passes to the JET lot, located just outside the Northwest entrance of the Holmes Center, can be purchased for $15 per game. These passes will be sold at the JET lot entrance.

Clear Bag Policy
  • The Holmes Convocation Center employs a clear bag policy intended to enhance patron safety and expedite arena entry by reducing the time needed to search bags at the gates.
  • Approved bags include:
    • Clear, plastic bags that do not exceed 12”X6”X12”
    • Small clutch purses (with or without straps) that are no larger than 4.5”x6.5”
    • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
    • Clear diaper bags
    • Individual seat cushions that do not include arms or pockets
  • Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by the Holmes Center staff.
 
Outside Food or Beverage
  • In accordance with the laws of North Carolina, it is against the law to bring any outside food or beverage into the arena.
 
Prohibited Items
  • The following items are prohibited in the Holmes Convocation Center:
    • Handbags and/or backpacks
    • Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs
    • Any type of outside food or beverage
    • Air horn or artificial noisemakers
    • Beach balls and other inflatables
    • Laser pointers or laser products of any kind
    • Sticks and/or poles
    • Fireworks or confetti
    • Skateboards, bicycles or roller blades
    • Weapons and contraband items of any type
    • Tasers
    • Any other items determined to be unacceptable by the Holmes Convocation Center Staff
 
Yosef Club
  • The Yosef Club has been in existence for over 50 years; our primary purpose will always be to provide scholarships for App State student-athletes. The Yosef Club also covers additional expenses that enhance and provide opportunities and world-class experiences.
  • With over 4,650 members, the Yosef Club has broken its record number of members in 2024.
  • Our "One More" campaign aims to find one more Yosef Club member. We need your help to reach our goal of 5,000 members.
