Biography

2015: Appeared in 23 games with 14 starts behind the plate … doubled in season opener vs. Davidson (Feb. 13) … recorded lone multi-hit game of the season when he went 2-for-4 with a sacrifice fly at High Point (March 3) … went 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored in win over Western Carolina (April 22) … capped the campaign with a walkoff RBI triple to lift the Mountaineers to a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over ETSU in the season finale (May 12).

2014: Split time as Appalachian State’s starting catcher with former Mountaineers Ozzy Gonzalez and Josh Zumbrook … saw action in 25 games with 21 starts (all at catcher) … 21 starts behind the dish were second-most on the team (behind only Gonzalez — 25) … hit .209 for the season, which was the highest batting average among Appalachian’s three backstops … picked up first two hits of his career on March 8 versus UNC Asheville … went 1-for-3 with an RBI double (first RBI and extra-base hit of his career) in win over Kent State (March 15) … notched another RBI double against UNCG (March 29) … legged out first-career triple in series opener against The Citadel (April 11) … went 2-for-5 with an RBI and run scored in 11-0 win at Virginia Tech (April 22) … went a career-best 3-for-5 in series-opening win over Davidson (April 25) … recorded two hits, two RBI and two runs scored in three-game series at eventual Southern Conference regular-season champion Western Carolina (May 2-4).

High School: Three-year letterwinner ... played at Ardrey Kell for legendary North Carolina high-school coach Hal Bagwell, an Appalachian State alumnus that also coached former Mountaineer standouts David Rubinstein and Matt Andress at South Mecklenburg.
