Coleman will join the Black and Gold after an outstanding prep career at Harrison High School. She was named 2014 and 2015 OAA all-league and 2015 Offensive MVP, while serving as team captain for two years. Coleman also played club volleyball for Legacy Volleyball Club. She was a member of the 2014 Big South Dream Team and was named to the 2014 North Coast Power League all-league team.

Coleman, a versatile athlete, was a 2014 all-state runner for the track and field team at Harrison in the 4x100-meter relay.

Ginipro's Comments: "Don't let her height fool you. Mikel is a high flyer and she told me she touched 10 feet two inches the last time she tested with her club. She will be a great addition to our outside hitting group where we are going to be pretty young after graduating Emily [Corrigan] and Jess [Keller]."
