BOONE, N.C. – App State Wrestling will host the Appalachian Open on Saturday, with competition moved up to a start time of 8 a.m. due to forecasted weekend weather conditions.
Doors will open to the public at 7:30 a.m.
Tickets are available online, or they're available for $10 at the door on Saturday.
The tournament will not be streamed, but
live scoring will be available through FloArena.
The Rivers Street Deck across from Varsity Gym is the most popular parking option for wrestling events, with fans entering the corner of the gym adjacent to the loading dock area off Rivers Street.
Portable chairs are not permitted in Varsity Gym, and fans should be aware that Varsity Gym has a clear bag policy for visitors. According to App State's clear bag policies:
- Approved bags include clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Bags that are not approved include diaper bags, backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, tinted or printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, oversized tote bags & mesh bags, and purses exceeding 4.5" x 6.5".
Subject to change, App State has 20 wrestlers registered to compete. The teams with the largest numbers of registered wrestlers are App State, Davidson, The Citadel, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Life University.
App State's 2025-26 season is presented by Hungry Howie's and Penn Station.
