BOONE, N.C. — Competing in Varsity Gym for the first time this season, App State Wrestling will host the Mountaineer Open on Sunday.
Competition will begin at 10 a.m., with doors opening to the public at 9 a.m.
In advance of Sunday,
tickets are $10 for general admission bleachers. All tickets purchased on match day carry an additional $5 cost, so purchase tickets in advance.
The tournament will not be streamed, but
live scoring will be available through FloArena.
The Rivers Street Deck across from Varsity Gym is the most popular parking option for wrestling events, with fans entering the corner of the gym adjacent to the loading dock area off Rivers Street.
Portable chairs are not permitted in Varsity Gym, and fans should be aware that Varsity Gym has a clear bag policy for visitors. According to App State's clear bag policies:
- Approved bags include clear plastic bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" and small clutch purses no larger than 4.5" x 6.5".
- Bags that are not approved include diaper bags, backpacks, binocular cases, camera cases, tinted or printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, oversized tote bags & mesh bags, and purses exceeding 4.5" x 6.5".
Multiple wrestlers from App State, NC State, North Carolina, Duke, Ohio, Chattanooga, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, Greensboro College and UNC-Pembroke are registered to compete.
