BOONE, N.C. - App State women's basketball head coach
Alaura Sharp announced the Mountaineers' 2024-25 non-conference schedule on Wednesday. The Mountaineers will face off against 10 non-conference opponents before opening Sun Belt action on Dec. 29. The Mountaineers'
conference schedule was announced by the league on Aug. 8.
"We are looking forward to a competitive schedule this season," said Sharp. "Our team will be challenged at home and on the road in our non-conference slate."
The Black and Gold will open the season against Miami (OH) in Oxford, Ohio for the first installment of the 2024-25 MAC-SBC Challenge on Nov. 4 before opening action at the Holmes Convocation Center on Nov. 6 against Columbia College. App State will also host Clinton College (Nov. 20), Richmond (Nov. 24), and Gardner-Webb (Nov. 27) before hitting the road for a four-game stretch in December that is highlighted by a clash with SEC opponent Vanderbilt on Dec. 1. The December road stretch will also feature games against Wofford, College of Charleston, and Mercer before returning to Holmes on Dec. 29 to open conference play.
"We will lean into this tough schedule to get us prepared for the physicality and strength of the Sun Belt Conference. We will push our team to grow through each part of the season and will work to play our best basketball in March," said Sharp.
