BOONE, N.C. - The App State women's basketball team is set for a midweek clash with Marshall in Huntington, WVa. on Wednesday. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. tipoff and will be available to stream on ESPN+.

Rylan Moffitt was the Mountaineers' top scorer with 16 points, as well as the top rebounder, with seven rebounds. Fellow sophomores Chaé Harris and

Ranked Mountaineers
For the week of Jan. 22-28, Harris ranked third in the Sun Belt in blocks per game. Alston ranked fourth in the league in assists, assists per game, and total blocks. App State ranked fifth in the league for turnovers forced per game.
In SBC-only play, Harris ranks third for made 3-pointers per game and fourth for 3-point percentage. Alston stands fourth in the SBC in the scoring and assists categories, while Moffitt rounds out the top-five in the rebounding category. App State ranks third in the league for made 3-pointers, fourth for blocked shots, and fifth for steals.
On the season, Moffitt ranks second in the league for rebounding and fifth for blocked shots, while Alston ranks second in the assists category, third in the assists per game category and rounds out the top-five for points, points per game, steals, and steals per game. Alston ranks second in the SBC and 14th in the NCAA in the made free throws category. App State stands second in the league and 32nd nationally in free throws made per game. The Mountaineers also stand fifth in the conference in made 3-pointers per game and turnovers forced per game.
Last Time Against Marshall
App State last met Marshall on Feb. 2, 2023 in Huntington. The Mountaineers fell short to the Thundering Herd, 72-64.
Faith Alston netted a team-high 17 points, while
Emily Carver contributed 16 points. The pair combined for eight of the Mountaineers' nine 3-point buckets on the night. Alston also dished out a team-high six assists, while
A'Lea Gilbert pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. The Black and Gold shot 77.3% from the line.
Scouting Marshall
Marshall is 15-5 on the season and 9-0 in Sun Belt play. The Thundering Herd comes into Wednesday's contest after adding a 106-95 victory over Georgia Southern on Jan. 27 to extend its undefeated SBC record. Saturday's win over the Eagles marked Marshall's fifth victory in which it scored at least 100 points this season. The Herd leads the Sun Belt in scoring under first year head coach Kim Caldwell, averaging 85.7 points per contest.
Abby Beeman, Breanna Campbell, and Aislynn Hayes are Marshall's top scorers. Beeman averages 16.8 points per game, while Campbell and Hayes average 15.5 and 14.2 points per game, respectively. Beeman also leads the team in the rebounds, assists, and steals categories.
On the Horizon
The Mountaineers will conclude their four-game road-stretch with a trip to Conway, S.C. for a Saturday afternoon clash against Coastal Carolina. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
