WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The App State women's track and field team rounded out a weekend at the Camel City Invitational in Winston-Salem on Saturday. The Black and Gold totaled eight top-10 finishes on the weekend.
Senior
Jasmine Donohue clocked a personal best of 9:47.40 to place third in the women's 3,000 meters. Her time places her at fifth in the App State all-time list. Also in the women's 3,000 meters, Freshman
Kaitlyn Obremski surpassed her previous personal best of 10:34.79 by clocking a time of 10:23.44.
In the women's shot put, senior
Megan Plummer placed eighth with a toss of 11.83m (38' 9.75")
Friday Rewind
On Friday, the Mountaineers tallied six top-five finishes on the day. Sophomore
Ava Studney led the Mountaineers in the women's pole vault, clinching first with a personal best of 3.80m (12' 5.5"), which moves her to fifth in the program all-time list. Graduate students
Noelle Meeker and
Celia Agee took second (3.65m (11' 11.75")) and fourth (3.50m (11' 5.75")), respectively.
On the track, freshman
Nicole Wells matched her personal best of 7.65 to place third in the women's 60 meters while graduate student
Alexia Moehling placed third in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.82.
In the women's weight throw, junior
Daiyanna Cooper took fourth with a toss of 16.76m (55' 0").
