BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball is set to host Old Dominion for its last home game of the regular season on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats and listening options available to follow along.
THE SERIES
- This will be the second meeting ever between the two programs.
- The Mountaineers won the first this past January, defeating the Monarchs, 72-58. Terence Harcum earned career highs in points (28), 3-pointers (8) and rebounds (7) to lead the Black & Gold to victory.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (15-13, 8-7 SBC)
- Head coach Dustin Kerns picked up the 100th win of his coaching career on Thursday, defeating Texas State, 82-75.
- App State ranks 20th in the nation in field goal percentage defense and leads the Sun Belt. The Mountaineers have held their opponents to 39.9% shooting from the field.
- The Mountaineers average only 13.7 fouls per game, ranking seventh in the country in fewest fouls.
- Tyree Boykin returned from injury after a seven-game absence last week and passed the 1,900-point mark for his career. On Thursday, he scored all 12 of his points in the final three minutes, including a 10-10 performance from the line, to seal the win.
SCOUTING THE MONARCHS (16-11, 8-7 SBC)
- Old Dominion fell to James Madison on Thursday night after a string of three consecutive wins over Georgia Southern, Georgia State and Texas State.
- During conference play, Tyreek Scott-Grayson paces the team with 14.6 points per game, followed by Chaunce Jenkins who averages 14.3.
- Scott-Grayson led the Monarchs with 16 points in their last game against App State.
- The Monarchs are second in the Sun Belt in offensive rebounds (11.9). Dericko Williams and Mekhi Long have combined for 126 offensive boards this season.
