BOONE, N.C. - The App State women's basketball team is set to host the College of Charleston on Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets will be $5 and students are encouraged to "Destress Yosef" with free coffee offered at the game. The men's basketball game against Central Penn will follow the women's game at 8 p.m. Both games will be available to stream on ESPN+.

Faith Alston was the Mountaineers' top scorer for a third consecutive game, netting 14 points. Alston, along with junior
Zada Porter contributed to App State's 90 percent shooting from the charity stripe, each sinking a perfect 4-of-4. Porter pulled down a team-high five rebounds. Sophomore Chaé Harris netted 11 points, accounting for both of the Black and Gold's treys on Wednesday.
Ranked Mountaineers
The Mountaineers rank fourth in the Sun Belt and 36th in the NCAA for free throws made per game (15.67) and stand fifth in the league for steals per game (11.2). Alston and Carver rank sixth in the conference for steals per game, each averaging 2.17. Alston also ranks eighth in the league for points per game, averaging 14.7.
For the week of Nov. 27-Dec. 3, App State led the league and rounded out the top-10 in the NCAA in the free throw percentage category, shooting 90 percent from the charity stripe. Alston and Porter were two of seven Sun Belt athletes who shot 100 percent from the line last week. Frazier, who tallied three steals, ranked second in the league and in the top-75 in the NCAA for the week.
Last Time Against College of Charleston
App State last met the College of Charleston on Dec. 2, 2018 in Boone. The Mountaineers defeated the Cougars, 80-66. Five Mountaineers scored double figures, led by Bayley Plummer, Tierra Wilson, and Ashley Polacek, who all netted 12 points. Plummer marked a double-double with a team-high 20 rebounds in addition to her 12 points. Wilson, Polacek, and Madi Story each contributed four assists. The Black and Gold held the College of Charleston to three 3-point buckets as well as six offensive rebounds.
Scouting College of Charleston
The College of Charleston is 5-1 (0-0 CAA) this season and will be coming to Boone off an 84-83 overtime road win against Coastal Carolina in Conway, S.C. on Dec. 2. The Cougars opened the season in Charleston with a triple-digit victory over Division III opponent Pfeiffer before falling to UNLV in Las Vegas. The Maroon and White are on a four-game win-streak, spanning from Nov. 17 to Dec. 2, which includes victories over Charleston Southern and Gardner-Webb, as well as a triple-digit win against Division III opponent N.C. Wesleyan.
Five Cougars average double-figures per game, led by Jada Logan, Alexis Andrews, and Jenna Annecchiarico, who average 16.8, 16.3, and 16.4 points per game, respectively. Annecchiarico boasts a free throw percentage of .917 and leads the team in the assists category, dishing out 7.8 per game. Logan is the team's top rebounder, pulling down an average 6.8 rebounds per contest.

The Mountaineers will travel to Richmond, Va. for a 2 p.m. matinee against Richmond on Dec. 10. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+. Sunday's game will mark the start of a three-game road-stretch before the Mountaineers return to Boone for a holiday clash against Mercer on Dec. 21.
