BOONE, N.C. — App State's
Tyrek Funderburk has been named a second-team All-American at cornerback by the Action Network.
Funderburk is tied for second place nationally with two pick-six interception returns for touchdowns this season, and his four interceptions are tied for first place in the Sun Belt Conference.
Funderburk scored on returns of 18 yards at Wyoming and 23 yards at ULM the following week. He also intercepted two passes in the first half of the regular-season finale against Georgia Southern.
Named a first-team All-Sun Belt performer, Funderburk has 46 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, eight breakups (for 12 passes defended) and half a sack.
