BOONE, N.C. -- Following the women's basketball game at 2 p.m. against Louisiana, App State men's basketball will host Arkansas State at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Holmes Convocation Center.

THE SERIES
- This will be the 16th meeting between the two schools in a series that App State leads 8-7.
- The Mountaineers have won three of the last four meetings against the Red Wolves.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (12-10, 5-4 SBC)
- App State ranks 34th in the nation in field goal percentage defense and leads the Sun Belt. The Mountaineers have held their opponents to 40.1% shooting from the field.
- Terence Harcum has led the scoring charge in the last two wins, recording a career-high 28 points at Old Dominion last Saturday, and posting 21 against Georgia State. During the last two games, the sophomore has recorded 49 points on 14-24 shooting, 12 rebounds, five assists, 10 3-pointers, and has shot 11-15 from the free throw line. Harcum has led the team in scoring four times during SBC play (five total).
- The Black & Gold led from start to finish against the reigning Sun Belt champions on Thursday night, defeating Georgia State, 71-59. In the first half, the Mountaineers scored 42 points in a half against a Sun Belt opponent for the first time since Jan. 1, 2022, when App State scored 45 second-half points to beat ULM, 77-69. On Thursday, they also held their opponent to 27 points or less in a half for the fifth time this month.
- Justin Abson blocked four shots on Thursday night, totaling 47 on the season. The freshman is now 10th all-time in single-season blocks at App State. The record is 75, set by Jeremy Clayton during the 2007-08 season. After his 10th game this year with three or more, Abson now ranks 15th in the nation in total blocks.
- App State fouls only 14.2 times per game, the fewest in the conference and 19th-fewest in the nation.
SCOUTING THE RED WOLVES (9-13, 1-8 SBC)
- Arkansas State is looking to bounce back after losing its last eight. The Red Wolves started their conference season with a 3-point win over Old Dominion before the streak began.
- In league action, Omar El-Sheikh leads the Red Wolves in points (11.8) and rebounds (10.8). The graduate student has recorded six double-doubles this season and is third in the conference on the glass.
- Arkansas State's Terrence Ford Jr. holds the third-best assist/turnover ratio in the country (3.4).
- Both the Red Wolves and the Mountaineers have had seven different leading scorers, including ties.
