SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS (9-8, 2-2 SBC)

  • The squad rounds out the top 40 in the nation in field goal percentage defense, and leads the Sun Belt. The Mountaineers have held their opponents to 39.8% shooting from the field. Heading into Saturday, JMU was the No. 1 scoring team in the country, averaging 88 points per game. App State held the Dukes to 62.
  • Tyree Boykin has grown into the leading scorer role, averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game in conference play, including 13 3-pointers and five against Coastal Carolina.
  • Huntley finished the 2-0 weekend with 24 points, 17 rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES (10-7, 3-1 SBC)
  • Georgia Southern has started strong in their SBC schedule, defeating South Alabama (64-50), Coastal Carolina (73-64) and Marshall (81-76). The Eagles' lone loss came in their last game where they fell in overtime to Old Dominion, 75-81.
  • Kaden Archie has scored in double-digits in his last five games, including 18 against ODU.
  • The Eagles have held their opponents to 64.6 points per game this season, which is the 62nd-best mark in the nation.
  • Georgia Southern averages eight steals per game, and is one of six Sun Belt teams in the top 100 in the steals column.
