BOONE, N.C. — Thirteen App State alums, a Sun Belt high, are currently on NFL rosters, and Darrynton Evans made his Chicago Bears debut on Week 4.
Darrynton Evans, RB, Chicago Bears
Elevated from the practice squad to the active roster, Evans made his Bears debut with 10 special teams reps in the 20-12 loss to the New York Giants.
Evans has returned to the practice squad.
Sam Martin, P/H, Buffalo Bills
Martin averaged 45.3 yards on three punts in a 23-20 win against Baltimore. He had a 56-yard punt that went out of bounds at the Baltimore 5 early in the fourth quarter.
Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, Cincinnati Bengals
With Germain Pratt back at linebacker, Davis-Gaither made one tackle and broke up one pass in the Bengals' 27-15 win against Miami on Thursday night. He played 11 defensive snaps and on 64 percent of the special teams plays.
Colby Gossett, OG, Atlanta Falcons
Gossett blocked on special teams in a 23-20 win against Cleveland.
Shemar Jean-Charles, CB, Green Bay Packers
Jean-Charles played one defensive snap and had one tackle while appearing on 50 percent of the special teams plays in a 27-24 victory against New England.
