App State Eyes Weekend Sweep on Saturday Against Little Rock

BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball looks for another weekend sweep on Saturday, hosting Little Rock at 4 p.m. on ESPN+.

  • There are no crowd size restrictions at this time.
  • Face coverings are required in all indoor areas, regardless of vaccination status. If actively eating, face coverings are not required to be worn

THE SERIES
  • This will be the 16th meeting between the two schools, with Little Rock holding a slim 8-7 edge.
  • The two teams met last season in the Sun Belt Tournament First Round, with the Mountaineers winning by a 67-60 score.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
  • App State moved into first place in the Sun Belt with a 61-54 triumph over Arkansas State on Thursday. The Mountaineers now stand at 13-9 on the season and 7-2 in conference play.
  • Michael Almonacy and Justin Forrest had 13 points each, Donovan Gregory tallied 11 points and nine rebounds and Adrian Delph added 10 points.
  • Delph has scored in double figures in 20 of 22 games this season and is third in the conference, averaging 17.1 points.
  • Almonacy has reached double figures in scoring in four of his last five games and is averaging 11.4 points during that span.
  • App State's 7-2 start in Sun Belt play is the best conference start for the program since 2007-08, when the Mountaineers began SoCon play 9-2.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS
  • Little Rock fell 65-49 at Coastal Carolina on Thursday evening to drop to 7-10 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
  • Jordan Jefferson had a career-high 18 points, while Nikola Maric added 13 points and nine rebounds. Isaiah Palermo added nine points and five rebounds for the Trojans.
  • Jefferson is the 12th different Trojan to reach double figures in a game this season.
  • In three conference games this season, Maric is averaging 20.3 points on 57.1 percent (24-of-42) shooting and 7.7 rebounds. Maric is also just 24 points shy of 1,000 for his career.
