App State Set for Road Clash at Georgia State

ATLANTA, Ga. -- App State men's basketball will play its fourth road contest in its last five games at Georgia State on Thursday. Tip is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

THE SERIES

• This will be the 17th meeting between the two schools, with the series tied at 8-8.
• App State won three of the four meetings last season, sweeping a weekend series in Boone and winning 80-73 in the Sun Belt Tournament title game.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS

• App State completed a weekend sweep of Coastal Carolina with an 84-76 overtime win in Conway on Saturday.
• Adrian Delph had 25 points, Donovan Gregory added a career-high 20 points and James Lewis Jr. tallied a double-double with 13 points and a career-high tying 14 rebounds.
• In conference play, Delph is averaging 19.8 points, which is third best in the league.
• Michael Almonacy is averaging 5.5 assists during league play, which is tied for third, while Lewis Jr. is averaging 8.7 rebounds in conference play, which ranks sixth.
• For his efforts last week, Delph was named Sun Belt Men's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and dishing out six assists.

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS

• Georgia State fell 74-65 at South Alabama on Thursday.
• Kane Williams had 12 points, Corey Allen and Justin Roberts each had 11 points and Eliel Nsoseme tallied 10 points.
• Allen  is averaging 3.1 made threes per game, which leads the Sun Belt. His 15.3 points per game scoring averaging leads the Panthers and sits sixth in the conference.
• Roberts (12.9 ppg), Williams (12.5 ppg), Nelson Phillips (10.3 ppg) and Nsoseme (10.0 ppg) are also averaging double figure scoring.
• Georgia State is averaging 9.2 steals as a team, which sits atop the Sun Belt.
