App State Football Video Wins Ultimate SAVVY Award

BOONE, N.C. - One of the top football video departments in the country is at it again as App State Football's video crew brought home first-place recognition for a fourth consecutive year at the annual SAVVY Awards presented by the Collegiate Sports Video Association. 
 
App State's "Something About These Mountains" video, narrated by quarterback Jacob Huesman, won the top honor for best Recruiting Video and also claimed the Ultimate SAVVY as the year's best overall video. It was the Mountaineers' first Ultimate win since 2014.
 
George Claiborne is App State's director of football video operations, while Max Renfro, Will Allen, Jade Riles, Hayden Chandler, Vince Fortea and Cooper Quickel played vital roles in winning both awards. 
 
The Mountaineers' football video crew has been nothing short of stellar, having claimed at least one first-place SAVVY award in 2008, 2009, 2014, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
 
This year's SAVVY awards were announced during the organization's annual awards banquet on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.
