CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami used a big second inning to take control in a 16-1 win against App State on Saturday night.
The Hurricanes (26-15) and Mountaineers (16-25) will conclude the three-games series Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Game 2 highlights for App State included right fielder
Dalton Williams' leaping catch at the wall to possibly prevent a home run, freshman catcher

Mauldin posted a career-high six strikeouts in two scoreless innings, striking out the side in both the seventh and eighth. His previous high was two strikeouts in a scoreless inning against Wake Forest earlier this season.
Offensively,
Luke Drumheller went 2-for-4, and Leek reached base twice.
Mauldin finished out a game that included pitching appearances from
Trey Tujetsch,
Ben Peterson,
Cy Smith and
Cam Roberts.
Miami led 1-0 after an inning and scored 10 runs on eight hits in the second inning. Three Hurricanes homered Saturday night, and starting pitcher Jake Smith struck out six batters in five scoreless innings.
