Men's Track & Field Returns to Action at USC Open and Virginia Challenge

BOONE, N.C. -- After taking last weekend off, App State men's track & field will return to action this weekend. The team will primarily compete at the USC Open on Saturday at 9 a.m. The Mountaineers will also send Ryan Brown and Isaac Benz to the Virginia Challenge. Benz will run in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 6:25 p.m. on Friday and Benz will compete in the second heat of 10,000-meter run at 10:15 p.m. on Friday.

LAST TIME OUT
In its last competition at the Chanticleer Classic on April 3, App State won three events at the meet:

• Patrick Freeman win the pole vault with a height of 15-7.00 (4.75m). Braden Underwood was third in the event with a mark of 14-7.25 (4.45m).
• Cole Krehnbrink won the 400-meter dash in 49.10 seconds. Thomas Dixon Jr. was third in the event with a time of 50.06 seconds.
• Dylan Blankenship captured the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.21 seconds.
• Jacob Soorus was third in the javelin with a mark of 172-11 (52.72m) and Isaac Benz recorded a PR mark in the 1,500-meter run with a PR time of 3:57.81.
• In the high jump, Yates Hall finished in a tie for second with a height of 6-2.00 (1.88m) and Joshua Hairston was third in the 800-meter run with a PR time of 1:55.21.
• Nathan Karl was second in the discus with a toss of 156-10 (47.80m).

With just two meets remaining until the Sun Belt Championships, App State has 12 top-eight marks in the conference in nine events:
