BOONE, N.C. — App State Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
Damion McLean announced the 2025-26 indoor and outdoor track and field schedule on Monday.
The Mountaineers' schedule will be highlighted by one home meet, the John Weaver Invitational, on April 24-25.
"The coaching staff is excited about the season and ready for the student-athletes to come back after break to hit the ground running," McLean said.
The women's team will open the indoor season on Dec. 6 with the Visit Winston-Salem College Kick-Off in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Mountaineers will resume the season on Jan. 10 with the UNC Asheville Collegiate Opener at Tyron International in Tyron N.C. App State will then make two appearances at VMI and Virginia Tech for the remainder of the indoor regular season. The 2026 Sun Belt Indoor Championships will be held in Birmingham, Ala on Feb. 23-24, which will be followed by the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. on March 13-14.
Opening the outdoor season, the men's and women's squads look to defend their Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge titles at the 2026 edition of the meet on March 13-14. The Mountaineers will appear in seven meets around the state of North Carolina during the outdoor season, including appearances at the Raleigh Relays (March 26-28), Duke Invitational (April 9-11), and Wake Forest Invitational (April 16-17). App State will close the regular season in Boone with the John Weaver Invitational at the Randy Marion Track & Field Facility on April 24-25.
The Sun Belt Outdoor Championships are set for May 14-16 and will be hosted by South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. The NCAA East First Round is scheduled for May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky. with the NCAA Outdoor Championships to follow on June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
