50 Former Standouts Named to SoCon 100th Anniversary Teams

BOONE, N.C. - Fifty former App State cross country and track and field standouts were named to the Southern Conference 100th Anniversary Teams Thursday.

The SoCon unveiled its anniversary squads to commemorate the 100th year history of the conference in 2021. App State was a 43-year member of the SoCon from 1971-2014.



100th Anniversary Men's Track and Field Team (first season 1923)

Members of the 100th anniversary team must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Member of SoCon Hall of Fame (for primary sport)
- National champion
- All-America in two different academic years
- SoCon Male Athlete of the Year
- SoCon Most Outstanding Performer in two different academic years
- Three-time event champion (not including relays)
- 10x total individual champion (not including relays)
- SoCon individual event record holder (not including relays; event must have been contested at least 15 times)

Notes:
- Student-athletes must have competed in the SoCon for at least two seasons.
- Awards are through the completion of the 2020-21 academic year.
