BOONE, N.C. -- App State men's basketball will host Louisiana on Thursday evening in the Sun Belt opener for both teams. Tip is set for 6:30 p.m. in the Holmes Convocation Center on ESPN+.

THE SERIES
- This will be the 12th meeting between the two schools, with Louisiana leading 9-2.
- The two teams did not play last season and last met on Jan. 6, 2019, with the Ragin' Cajuns winning 81-73 in Boone.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
- App State enters play with a 6-7 overall mark. The Mountaineers fell on Dec. 21 at North Carolina in its non-conference finale 70-50.
- On Dec. 21, Donovan Gregory scored a season-high 18 points on a career-high tying eight made field goals, while grabbing a season-high tying nine rebounds (five offensive). Adrian Delph also reached double figures in scoring for the 11th time this season with 10 points.
- Over his last three games, Gregory is averaging 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds.
- Delph is averaging a team-high 14.9 points, which is fifth in the Sun Belt.
- App State is limiting opponents to just 28.4 percent on 3-pointers this season, which ranks second in the Sun Belt and to 61.5 points, which sits third.
SCOUTING THE RAGIN' CAJUNS
- Louisiana enters play at 5-5 and has not played since falling 71-56 at No. 14 Houston on Dec. 14.
- Against Houston, Jordan Brown had 13 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks. Kentrell Garnett added 12 points off the bench.
- Brown is one of three players in the Sun Belt to be averaging 9.0 rebounds or more, ranking third at 9.0 rebounds. Brown also leads the team in scoring at 14.1 points, which sits tied for eighth in the conference.
- The Ragin' Cajuns lead the conference in opponent 3-point percentage at 26.1 percent.
