Meet the 2021-22 Signees: Alannah Hopkins

BOONE, N.C. - App State softball signed Alannah Hopkins on Wednesday, Nov. 10, for the 2021-22 roster.

"Alannah is a pitcher that commands the zone and has great movement.  She is a fierce competitor that is locked in all she does on and off the field.  Alannah's game knowledge and love for softball makes her a great fit here in our App family," said head coach Shelly Hoerner

An All-State and All-District selection at Smoky Mountain High School, Hopkins will join the Mountaineers after a successful high school career. Hopkins has earned varsity letters all four years, while earning the ASA National Champion title in 2016 and the USA Junior Cup National Champion title in 2018.

As a junior, the right-handed pitcher was named Conference Pitcher of the Year and District Pitcher of the Year, after recording 128 strikeouts in 77 innings, while posting a 1.09 ERA. At the plate, Hopkins is hitting .341 with 10 RBIs and three home runs.

Hopkins is from Sylva, N.C., and attends Smoky Mountain High School. She played travel ball with the Fury 2022 Premier.
