MONROE, LA. - App State women's soccer suffers a 2-1 defeat against ULM on Friday night in Monroe, La. after inclement weather called the match.
The Mountaineers fall 4-9-1 overall and 0-7-0 in conference play, while ULM improves 9-3-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in league play.
The Mountaineers got on the board first, in the 22nd minute, when Breckyn Monteith scored the lone goal for the Black and Gold, after a free kick by Emma McGibany. Olivia Cohen and Sarah Widderich earned the assist off the goal by Monteith.
The Warhawks were quick to tie the contest, three minutes later, in the 25th minute when Theoni Zerva scored.Â
In the 37th minute of the contest, Courtney Marten scored for the Warhawks, taking the 2-1 lead.Â
After the break, the match was cut short due to inclement weather in the area.Â
App State returns to action against Arkansas State on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in Jonesboro, Ark. The last road match of the regular season will be streamed on ESPN+.
