About the Mountaineers

App State went 1-1 in the first weekend of Sun Belt action at Troy. The Mountaineers dealt Troy a 78-66 setback in the opener before falling in the finale, 85-65. Highlighting the Mountaineers' win were Pre Stanley, who scored a game-high 24 points, tied a personal best with seven assists and tied a season high with seven boards in the victory. Michaela Porter recorded her third double-double of the season on Friday with a season-best 15 points and a personal-high 14 rebounds. A Sweep Would
- Give the Mountaineers a 6-4 mark and 3-1 record in league play.
- Give the Apps their first road Sun Belt sweep since the 2015-16 season when the Apps defeated Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
- Improve to 26-38 in the series and 14-15 in Statesboro.

What to Watch for
- Georgia Southern is second overall in the league averaging 12.4 steals per game. Watch if the Mountaineers can protect the ball.
- In three of its four losses, opponents have shot 51.3 percent from inside the arc. Watch if the Mountaineers can find easy opportunities from inside the 3-point line. App State shot 48.8 percent from two against Troy.
- Watch if the Mountaineers can win the battle on the glass, as the Eagles' average rebound margin in their four losses is minus-5.0 compared to plus-18.4 in wins.
- In the last four contests against league foes dating back to last season, Gosnell is averaging 17 points, 7.5 rebounds, and shooting 47.1 percent from the field. See if the senior can continue her success this weekend.
- When the senior trio of Gosnell, Stanley, and Wilson are on the court against Georgia Southern, they have found success against the Eagles. Despite Wilson missing last season, they are averaging a combined 45.5 points on 47 percent shooting from the field and 43.7 percent from beyond the arc since 2017-18 against the Eagles. See if the captains can set the tone this weekend.
