Women's Basketball Starts Road Swing at ETSU

BOONE, N.C. - App State women's basketball begins a six-game road swing against former SoCon rival, ETSU, on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Johnson City, Tenn.

About the Mountaineers

Last Time Out
The Mountaineers were edged by Davidson, 67-64, last Friday in the Holmes Center. Pre Stanley scored a season-high 26 points on an efficient 13-of-16 shooting from the field, giving the senior her third 20-point performance in four contests. Lainey Gosnell turned in a 12-point, 10-rebound performance for her second double-double of the season. 

Five Things to Watch
- Watch if App State can force ETSU into mistakes as the Bucs average 23.4 turnovers per game. 
- See if the Mountaineers can get it going from beyond the arc after shooting a season-low 3-of-15 against Davidson. App State nailed a season-best 10 trifectas in the other road game against Virginia Tech. 
- Watch if the App reserves can step up after scoring a season-high 17 points against Davidson. 
- See if the Black and Gold can find easy opportunities in the paint, as the Bucs have been outscored inside in all four losses. - See if App State can get off to a fast start as it has yet to score over 31 points through the first two quarters. Opponents have outscored ETSU by an average of 7.8 points through five contests in the first half.

- ETSU is coming off a 70-64 setback to Davidson on Friday in its most recent outing.
- Jasmine Sanders scored a season and game-high 18 points in the loss.
- The Bucs are on a four-game skid going into the contest on Sunday.
- Six players are averaging at least five points with Mykia Dowdell and Jakhyia Davis averaging 8.6 points per game.
- Davis leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 per game.
- ETSU's lone win came in the season opener against Longwood, 62-56.

The Mountaineers are 45-34 all-time in against ETSU. However, the Bucs have had the Mountaineers' number winning the past three contests.
