BOONE, N.C. — With the NFL playoffs beginning Saturday, here's a look back at how App State's #NFLneers fared this season.
Tae Hayes, CB, Miami Dolphins
Hayes enjoyed a strong end to his rookie season, as he recorded three tackles, defended one pass and participated in 74 percent of Miami's defensive snaps, plus nine special teams snaps, in a Week 16 win over Cincinnati.
In last weekend's season-ending win over New England, Hayes had four tackles and defended one pass while playing on 60 percent of the Dolphins' defensive snaps. He also recovered a teammate's muffed punt on special teams.
An undrafted rookie, Hayes appeared in three games this season, as he made his debut with Jacksonville before later joining the Dolphins.
Daniel Kilgore, C, Miami Dolphins
Kilgore, a team captain, played all 158 offensive snaps during the two-game winning streak to end the season against Cincinnati and New England.
After being limited to four games in 2018 because of an injury, Kilgore played in 13 games this season.
Doug Middleton, S, Jacksonville Jaguars
After playing in one game for Miami, Middleton added two appearances for the Jaguars to end the season and made two tackles on kickoff returns in a Week 17 win against Indianapolis.
Sam Martin, P, Detroit Lions
Completing his seventh season with the Lions, Martin averaged 45.3 yards per punt (with a net average of 41.8). He had 31 punts inside the 20, the second-highest total in his career and the sixth-best mark in the NFL this season.
With only 130 return yards for the season on his 76 punts, he was responsible for the second-lowest total among the league's full-time punters.
A.J. Howard, S, Detroit Lions
The Lions signed Howard to their practice squad on Christmas Eve. He spent time with Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Detroit during the 2019 regular season.
Colby Gossett, OG, Cleveland Browns
Gossett was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster before Cleveland's season finale, but he did not play in the loss to Cincinnati.
Kendall Lamm, OT, Cleveland Browns
Lamm, who missed the season finale with a knee issue, played in four games this season and started two.
Ronald Blair, DE, San Francisco 49ers
Blair, who is recovering from a torn ACL, had 21 tackles and 3.0 sacks in nine games for the 49ers (13-3). They have a bye to open the playoffs.
Jalin Moore, RB, New York Jets
Moore spent the season on the reserve/non-football injury list as he fully recovers from a leg injury sustained during his senior year at App State.
