About the Mountaineers
Last Time Out
App State is coming off a 76-58 setback to Arkansas State on Thursday evening in Jonesboro. The Red Wolves shot over 50 percent from the field and 50 percent
from beyond the arc. Nicola Mathews poured in a personal-best 18 points to lead the offense, canning six 3-pointers, which was one shy of tying the school record for
trifectas in a game. She led the bench that scored 29 points, the second-highest outing from the reserves this season. Brooke Bigott tied a career-high with six assists.

Mountaineer Tidbits
- Pre Stanley is approaching the 1,000-point mark for her career. She is 31 points away from becoming the 26th member of the club, while she would become the first
player since Maryah Sydnor to reach the 1,000-point milestone her junior season.
- Brooke Bigott and Haile McDonald have stepped up until pivotal role players for the Black and Gold. Bigott has started in six straight games while she has shown the ability to hit the three. After hitting zero 3-pointers in the first eight games, the sophomore is shooting 44.8 percent (17-38) from behind the arc. McDonald is becoming a solid option off the bench, averaging 12 points on 65 percent shooting and averaging 5.6 rebounds during the stretch.
- Appalachian hit 10 3-pointers against Arkansas State, which was the second time the Apps have hit at least 10 trifectas.
- The 16 assists on 22 field goals (72.7 percent) against the Red Wolves was the second time this season App had assisted on at least 70 percent of its buckets.

Scouting Coastal Carolina
- The Chanticleers come in on a torrid four-game win streak highlighted by wins against UTA and most recently a 20-point victory at Little Rock.
- Coastal is led by the scoring duo of DJ Williams (16.1 ppg) and Aja Blount (15.1 ppg), who average a combined 31.2 points per game.
- Naheria Hamilton leads the team in rebounding at a clip of 7.8 rebounds per game.
- CCU is at the top in multiple categories in the Sun Belt, including scoring defense (57.6 ppg), scoring margin (+18.5), free throw percentage
(.727), field goal percentage (.442), field goal percentage defense (.349), 3-point field goal percentage (.353) and 3-point field goal percentage
defense (.261).
- Three players in Torrie Cash (1st-.480), Z. Esmon (3rd - .394) and Caitlin Roche (7th-.373) rank in the top 10 in 3-point field goal percentage.

Series History
App State leads the all-time series, 7-6, after taking two out of three contests last season. The Mountaineers won last season's contest in Boone, 67-53,
thanks to a 24-9 fourth quarter. The Apps also captured a first-round Sun Belt Tournament victory over the Chanticleers.

What's Next
Appalachian will have Thursday off before traveling back to Arkansas to face Little Rock.
