JONESBORO, Ark. – Appalachian State women's track & field finished seventh of 12 teams at the Sun Belt Championships.
 
The Mountaineers posted 48 points in the meet. Arkansas State won the team title with 155 points.
 
Katelyn Butler shattered the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing second in a PR time of 10:31.33. It marks her third straight Second Team All-Sun Belt honor.
 
Emily Fedders also earned All-Sun Belt honors with a second-place finish in the 10,000-meter run. Her time of 36:33.45 also ranked sixth all-time in the event in program history. Fedders also notched an eighth-place finish in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:31.88.
 
App State saw two finish in the top eight of the pole vault.  
Hannah Emery finished in a tie for fourth with a season-best mark of 12-0.00 (3.66m), while 
Silvanna Curtain finished eighth with a PR mark of 11-0.25 (3.36m).
 
Jelonnie Smith turned in a PR in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 55.88 seconds. Her time also moves her into seventh place in the event in program history.
 
The Mountaineers also saw two finish in the top-eight of the 1,500-meter run. 
Phylissa Greeley finished fifth in 4:38.63 and 
Elisa Sargent used a late surge to record an eighth-place finish in 4:39.89. Greeley also earned a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:13.67.
 
Megan Scannell placed fifth in the 10,000-meter run in 36:55.73.
 
The Black and Gold placed both relays in the top-eight. The 4x400-meter relay team of 
Erin Morrison, 
Kylee Frady, 
Jessica Dixon and Smith were sixth in 3:51.29, while the 4x100-meter relay, 
Samara Gibson, Dixon, Morrison and Smith placed seventh with a time of 46.91 seconds.
 
Dixon also was seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.91 seconds.
 
Ashley Muschiatti finished in a tie for eighth in the shot put with a mark of 42-2.25 (13.16m).
 
App State will now wait for an announcement from the NCAA for participants in the NCAA East Regionals from May 23 to May 25 in Jacksonville, Fla.
